Requirements for All PositionsThe ideal candidate for each of these positions will be able to commit at least one volunteer hour a week for a year (may not be needed every week). The ideal candidate will be able to take ownership of their task, with minimal guidance, and see the task through to completion. Each volunteer will collaborate with board regularly on direction and progress.
Selection processThe AA will ask for volunteers in each position until 3 candidates are available. Then the AA will interview the candidates and select the alumnus that is the best fit.
WebmasterWe are in high need of a new website! Ideal person would have bandwidth in near term to fairly quick create a new site and then ~1 hour a week available on an ongoing basis.
Required Experience: Installing/creating/maintaining WordPress, creating custom PHP pages, and creating/editing MySQL databases
Desired Experience: Auth authentication [We’d like for alumni to be able to login using their Google or Facebook account if desired.], BuddyPress. Please send a link to a website you created and explain 1) what parts you did and 2) how long it took.
TreasurerA voting member of the TJHSST Alumni Association Board of Directors.
The treasurer is responsible for maintaining all finances for the Association, including coordination of funding income and expenses with various Class Reunion Committees and the associated reporting of to the Board and the Reunion Committees. Time commitment is ~1 hour / week and a monthly board meeting.
Website Content ManagerA voting member of the TJHSST Alumni Association Board of Directors.
This volunteer will participate in monthly board meetings on second Mondays of each month and develop and maintain content and images on the website to communicate news and events to all Alumni. The updating of the website currently involves FTPing files from the web server, and doing text editing of .ASP code. If you have been in a communications role previously, please explain what you did and what type of time commitment was involved.
